The "Grand Ole Opry", "Hee Haw", and "Arthur Godfrey's Talent Scouts" helped us enjoy the world we thought we lived in and thought would never go away...as it always does. We enjoyed Hank Williams, Patsy Cline, Minnie Pearl, Dolly Parton, Porter Wagner, Ray Acuff, Deford Bailey, Loretta Lynn, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, and "uncle Dave" Macon. They told our story.
Our story has been told similarly by others, such as: Woody Guthrie, Leadbelly, Roy Rogers, Gene Autry, Sons of the Pioneers, Bob Dylan, Phil Ochs, Paul Simon, Cat Stevens, url Ives, John Denver, Merle Haggard, and many others.
The storytellers sing on. The singers are different. Ask any teenager who the previously identified singers are. They might identify one or two, most likely none.
Does it really matter? Probably not. The underlying themes are the same: love, death, sadness, hope, joy, betrayal, and many more.
Listen to the sound you enjoy. Whatever it is, it binds us together.
Hoping that you enjoyed visiting Nashville and experienced the nostalgia of a changing culture.
Watching our culture change.

Yes, I remember Burl Ives, even though I left the capital B from his first name. My apologies, Burl.
